ST PANCRAS DRY DOCK SERVICES
Exceeding Your Expectations
At St Pancras Dry Dock, we go out of our way to provide a truly exceptional service to all of our customers. Read on to learn more about what we can offer you.
St Pancras Dry Dock is a fully enclosed, centrally heated Dry Dock, which is a rarity in the south of England, and this allows us to black with confidence all year round, come sunshine, rain or snow.
Before blacking, the boats are first scraped, in order to remove any growth, detritus and/or any loose coating, and then pressure washed with our 3000psi jet washer and allowed to dry thoroughly.
We then apply two coats of International Intertuf, arguably the best on the market, by brush, not roller, in order to ensure a greater film thickness and also a thorough coating of all of the hull, including any pitting or other incursions, and we do not thin either coat. After this, we allow the boats to dry thoroughly before being put back into the water, as this is essential for the longevity and integrity of your newly-blacked hull.
Tick followed tock...
One of our most popular services. Our speciality is taking boats back to bare steel by hand, windows/portholes out, rust treat/filler as necessary, and then the application of six coats of Craftmaster Coach Paint, arguably the best on the market by far, by traditional methods, not spraying, in order to achieve a superior film thickness and longevity of your new paint job, flatting off between coats. This is all carried out in our fully enclosed, centrally heated Dry Dock, allowing us to paint with confidence from early autumn to late spring, although the height of summer is (hopefully) too hot for the paint to flow properly, so we spend the time topping up our tans instead!
Our pricing is a job price, not an hourly rate, so you know when you book exactly what your new paint job will cost, and we always, always get your boat back to you on time. See below for our gallery and testimonials, and to enquire about availability and pricing, or to discuss your requirements, do get in touch with us today; there's nothing we enjoy more!
WELDING & STEELWORK
Welding, steelwork and fabrication are also available at St Pancras Dry Dock, carried out by City & Guilds qualified welders; contact us by email to discuss your particular requirements, and for availability and pricing.
St Pancras Dry Dock is also available to hire for the purpose of out of water surveys and pre-purchase surveys, saving you the hassle amd expense of having your boat (or potential boat!) craned out for the day; however do please be aware that the available slots tend to fill up very quickly, so do try to book ahead as far as possible.
